Apple has released tvOS 27.2 for Apple TV 4K users, bringing several new and improved features. Profiles in the TV app now expand to iPhone and iPad for the first time, making them more useful across devices. Alongside this expansion, Apple added new characters to the profile selection screen, including characters from The Snoopy Show, Frog & Toad, and Stillwater.
Screen savers get a boost with a new "Shuffle" option that automatically cycles through Aerials, Memories & Slideshows, Portraits, and Snoopy screen savers. Users can also customize which content from their Photos library appears in the Portraits and Memories & Slideshows categories.
tvOS 27.2 introduces support for ASL (American Sign Language) and BSL (British Sign Language) with select movies and TV shows in the Apple TV app, toggleable from Settings or player controls. The update also includes a new app icon and design updates for the Music app to align with the Apple Music rebrand.
Looking ahead, Apple announced upcoming features including Siri AI for Apple TV 4K 2nd generation and later, as well as exclusive surround sound support for the 4th generation Apple TV 4K using four compatible Home Pods as front and rear speakers.
