Tribit StormBox Micro 3 Review: Better Sound, Battery, and Price

The Tribit StormBox Micro 3 is the latest iteration of my favorite travel speaker, offering modest but meaningful upgrades over its predecessor. The $65 Bluetooth speaker maintains its compact four-inch square design with a black mesh exterior and oversized buttons, but now includes magnetic attachment alongside the stretchy rubber strap for versatile mounting options.

Audio output has increased by 30% to 13W, though most users likely won't need the extra volume. The more significant improvement is the doubled battery life, jumping from 12 to 24 hours thanks to a new 4800 mAh battery. Waterproofing has also been enhanced from IP67 to IP68, with a 1.22M drop rating for added durability. Bluetooth 6.0 provides a 140ft range, though the practical benefits are debatable.

The speaker doubles as a USB-C power bank for charging your iPhone, maintaining its versatility for travel. While the visual design remains nearly identical to the Micro 2, the combination of longer battery life, improved durability, and magnetic mounting makes this a worthwhile upgrade for new buyers. The Micro 3 retails for $65, just $5 more than its predecessor, but early-bird pricing drops it to $45.49 through April 12th with code MICRO3EDM.
