The Outsiders, nominated for a 2026 Apple Design Award in Interaction, just shipped version 1.7, its biggest update since launch eight months ago. Gentler Stories rolled out Home Screen widgets, expanded metric panels and a slew of user‑requested tweaks. The move underscores how quickly the app has matured from a niche workout tracker into a more versatile training platform.

Version 1.7 adds Garmin imports and manual .FIT support for Zwift, Wahoo, COROS, Karoo, Amazfit and other Health sources. It now supports 161 workout types—from Dog Running to BMX Racing—plus a “sessions” metric and four status flags: Active Recovery, On a Break, Injured, Sick. Home Screen widgets let athletes glance at Training Readiness, Load Ratio, Endurance and Health metrics without opening the app.

The update also swaps the default Training Load Ratio for a new Training Form view, aimed at racers who need to balance fitness and freshness for peak performance. UI tweaks introduce card‑style body metric panels and a map view for workout photos, while subscription tiers—monthly, yearly, lifetime—unlock the full feature set. The Outsiders now offers a more comprehensive training ecosystem for serious athletes.
