Bidding has closed on Steve Jobs’ 1968 science fair project, with the item fetching $34,375 at auction. The 8th-grade project focused on the silicon-controlled rectifier and included two demonstration circuits and a 10-page report. It had been sitting below $3,000 in online bidding when first reported.

The project remained at the famed “Apple Garage” for decades, preserved by Jobs’ family. His stepbrother, John Chovanec, said Jobs repeatedly declined to take it back, eventually allowing Chovanec to keep it. The piece was part of the “Steve Jobs & the Computer Revolution: The Apple 50th Anniversary Auction Part Two.”

The auction featured nearly 150 Apple and tech-related rarities. A signed Steve Jobs business card sold for $156,658, a collection of his personal electronic components went for $27,188, and a 1983 letter declining a speaking invitation brought $24,695. The top seller was a fully functional Apple-1 computer from the second batch of 50 units, which sold for $499,363.
