A science project that Apple co-founder Steve Jobs built for his 8th-grade science fair sold at auction for $34,375. Jobs was attending Cupertino Jr. High when he designed the project, titled "What is the SCR?" The lot includes a plywood display board with three explanatory panels and a 10-page report. The left panel shows a wooden model of a silicon-controlled rectifier, the center demonstrates its principles, and the right panel describes a 25-amp version.

The project is labeled with Jobs' name and includes a note asking judges to plug in Circuit II and unplug after testing. The item came from John Chovanec, Jobs' stepbrother, whose mother married Paul Jobs. Chovanec previously sold other Jobs memorabilia, including a 1977 Apple Computer poster for $659,900 and an Apple-1 Byte Shop wooden case for $254,375.
