Apple CarPlay users can now rearrange and hide apps through iPhone Settings, a feature many don't realize exists. Unlike the familiar iPhone Home screen drag-and-drop, CarPlay customization happens entirely within the Settings app on your iPhone.

To access this feature, open Settings, tap General, then CarPlay, and select your vehicle. The interface shows a simple list where you drag apps up or down to reorder them. This arrangement is specific to each car, so you'll need to repeat the process for multiple vehicles. Understanding your CarPlay screen's grid layout is essential - common configurations include 2×4 or 4×4 arrangements.

The customization screen also lets you hide apps from CarPlay without deleting them from your iPhone. This is useful for decluttering your dashboard while keeping apps available for other uses. Remember to complete these changes while parked, not while driving.
