Apple's iOS 26 introduces five new CarPlay customization options that give drivers more control over their in-car interface than ever before. These features address long-standing requests from users who wanted deeper personalization beyond basic app organization.

Smart Display Zoom automatically optimizes the interface for different display sizes and shapes, though it's not universal across all vehicles. Widgets finally arrive on CarPlay, appearing as 1-3 stacks on the left side of the home screen with up to five widgets per stack configurable through iPhone settings.

Six new dynamic wallpapers complement the updated iPhone aesthetic, shifting between light and dark modes automatically. Text resizing joins the accessibility toolkit, allowing system-wide adjustments through Settings → Accessibility → Text Size. App icons can now display in Default, Dark, or Clear styles, with the latter embracing the new Liquid Glass design language.

These updates transform CarPlay from a static projection into a customizable dashboard companion, addressing user feedback about limited personalization options that lagged behind smartphone capabilities.
