Perplexity rolled out a major update to its Comet AI browser for iPhone and iPad, adding eight new features that promise smoother interaction between web browsing and AI chat. The company says the changes target everyday tasks, from calling numbers to dragging images into the assistant. Users now get a more integrated experience that blends AI context with live browsing.

Key additions include phone‑number actions that let users call, FaceTime, message, or save contacts with a single tap, and a polished iPad sidebar that adapts to window size. The new Finance Deep Dive tab opens long‑form analysis as a full browser tab, while search results remember their scroll position for seamless navigation. Dragging an image to the assistant now drops it directly into the chat.

Additional polish includes crash fixes for clearing data, sharper favicons, and cleaner bottom controls on iPhone. The update also ensures that recently closed tabs stay cleared and deleted threads remain gone, preventing accidental restoration. With these refinements, Perplexity positions Comet as a more reliable companion for AI‑powered browsing on mobile, aiming to compete with larger browser ecosystems.
