Microsoft released a major design update for Outlook on Mac today, bringing the app's interface in line with macOS Tahoe's aesthetic. The company describes it as an "app-wide" refresh that creates a more native feel on Apple's platform. This addresses long-standing complaints about Outlook's inconsistent appearance on Mac compared to its Windows counterpart.

The update introduces three specific Liquid Glass changes: the "New" button gets smoother animations and glass effects, while meta OS and profile controls gain elevation and translucent backgrounds. App windows and buttons now feature increased corner radii that match the macOS Tahoe design language. These tweaks aim to make Outlook feel less like a ported Windows application and more like a first-class Mac citizen.

Microsoft also added Import PST functionality, allowing users to easily migrate emails, calendars, and contacts from Outlook's Windows file format. This feature bridges a significant gap for users switching between platforms. Word and PowerPoint for Mac received routine bug fixes and performance improvements in the same release.
