Matic Robot Vacuum Gains Apple Home Integration

Matic Robots has added Apple Home support to its vacuum/mop, letting users control the device through Siri and the Home app. The update arrived via version 1.44, introducing a "Connect to Smart Home App" option in settings. Users can pair with Apple Home or Google Home by scanning a QR code displayed on the robot's screen.

Once connected, Matic gains Siri voice control and full Home app functionality. Commands like "start vacuuming" or "mop the living room" work across iPhone, Apple Watch, and HomePod mini. The robot's room mapping carries over to Home, avoiding duplicate room lists. Users can also trigger cleaning through scenes or automations.

Inside the Home app, Matic offers controls for vacuuming, mopping, or both, plus pausing and docking. Three cleaning modes—Quick, Deep Clean, and Automatic—are exposed. The app shows charging status but cannot play a sound to locate the device. Notably, the macOS Home app doesn't support these features, limiting Siri control on Mac. Overall, the integration adds meaningful convenience without replacing the core Matic app experience.
