Apple has released the first public beta of macOS 27.3 Golden Gate, following the developer beta launch. This major update introduces significant new features across the operating system. Siri AI expands to four additional languages, including Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
Safari receives new tools like Vertical Tabs, Adaptive Dark Mode, and improved tab management. A notable addition is native Markdown rendering in Quick Look, allowing users to preview markdown files with proper formatting. Apple is also expanding Siri capabilities across native apps like Messages, Music, Calendar, Photos, and Reminders, enabling complex actions and file management.
Third-party developers gain new tools for Siri AI integrations using Markdown-based instructions. A new screensaver, Pro Lighteensaver, joins the new wallpaper from the touchscreen MacBook Pro, featuring light moving along metallic "PRO" lines. Security updates include new checks for potentially harmful content shared via public iCloud links, with Apple able to flag or remove violating material.
The public beta build 26C5035r matches the developer build. Interested users can join the free program at beta.apple.com.
