Apple is rolling out the fifth developer beta of macOS 26.6, continuing a cycle focused on bug fixes and general improvements rather than user-facing features. Since beta 1, the update has addressed deprecation notices that incorrectly identified some apps as Intel-only, while also marking ecosystem and HealthKit issues as resolved. Apple has shared few other details, though the company recently acknowledged that AI-powered security exploits are prompting faster security patch releases.

The release build for macOS 26.6 beta 5 is 25G5065a, suggesting the next release will likely be the release candidate. This follows macOS 26.5, which already included some of the expected security patches.

To install the beta, developers should back up their Mac, open System Settings, navigate to General ⇾ Software Update, click the 'i' icon next to Beta Updates, select the macOS Developer Tahoe Beta from the dropdown, and confirm with 'Done.'
