iPhone Air 2 launch rumors: What to expect

Leaker Fixed Focus Digital, who correctly predicted the iPhone 16e name, insists an iPhone Air 2 will launch this year. They claim it will be a minor update with no major spec changes, arriving this fall. This contradicts other reports suggesting a 2027 release.

The original iPhone Air reportedly underperformed, with Apple slashing manufacturing orders due to weak demand. The slim model saw no delivery delays, and competitors abandoned similar designs. A two-camera upgrade was expected to boost appeal, but that update seems delayed.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests the primary change could be a new 2-nanometer processor for better battery life, not design updates. This chip may be cheaper to produce, making a minor refresh plausible. Apple likely won't heavily market this incremental model, but it signals continued investment in the Air line.

The two-camera version is almost certainly a 2027 product. This year's focus appears to be internal upgrades rather than fixing the original's biggest criticisms. The move to 2nm silicon could improve efficiency without changing the controversial single-camera design.
