Apple rolled out iOS 27 beta 3 today, unlocking full control over Siri’s vocal personality. Vice president of Siri Engineering Mike Rockwell previewed the feature at WWDC26, announcing that users can now tweak speaking pace and expressivity for the first time. The change promises a more natural, customizable experience.

The Settings > Siri > Voice menu now displays active Pace and Expressivity sliders. Each slider offers five adjustment levels for the two default voices, with a live audio sample that updates instantly as the user moves the controls. A checkmark saves the selection.

Apple notes that these voice tweaks extend beyond Siri, affecting Apple Maps and Safari. When a user modifies the sliders, the new speech pattern applies automatically in those apps, ensuring a consistent auditory tone across the ecosystem.

For consumers, the new controls mean clearer, faster or more expressive interactions, potentially aiding accessibility and user preference. For the industry, it signals a shift toward deeper AI personalization, encouraging other platforms to offer similar real‑time voice customization options.
