Anthropic is offering free access to premium Claude AI features for K-12 teachers in the United States through its new Claude for Teachers initiative. This program provides verified educators with paid AI capabilities, including Claude Cowork and Claude Code, for free.

The initiative, announced Tuesday, features education-focused skills co-developed with Learning Commons, designed around tasks important to teachers and evaluated for pedagogical alignment. The offer includes a free year of premium Claude access.

Eligible U.S. teachers can apply for this promotion until June 30, 2027. Anthropic is also developing a dedicated offering for schools and districts. This move follows similar AI access programs for educators, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT for Teachers.
