The flight-tracking app Flighty released a significant update today, introducing a new Connection Assistant feature designed to streamline layovers. This tool provides users with detailed, step-by-step guidance for their specific connections, including information on terminal changes, security checkpoints, and passport control.

Connection Assistant leverages Flighty's flight tracking data, airport-specific procedures, and statistical modeling of past flights. It offers estimates for how long each step typically takes, factoring in historical patterns and normal conditions. Users can further personalize guidance by adding booking class, seat information, or passport details, which can unlock tailored instructions like e-gate eligibility, dynamically displaying only applicable steps based on citizenship.

This update also brings an "industry-first" Gate Predictions feature, using historical data to forecast arrival and departure gates, gate range, or concourse. Flighty continues to offer its existing suite of features, such as delay predictions and airport intelligence. The app is free to download, with a Flighty Pro subscription available for $59.99 annually or $4.99 weekly, and a $299 lifetime purchase option.
