Apple's AI Wearables Push: Glasses, Pendant, and Camera AirPods

Apple is accelerating development of three new AI-powered wearables, including smart glasses, an AI pendant, and camera-equipped AirPods, according to a Bloomberg report. These devices are being built around the Siri digital assistant and aim to function as all-day AI companions that understand what users are seeing and doing in real time.

The smart glasses, designed to compete with Meta's offerings, will feature a high-resolution camera and computer vision capabilities without a display. Instead, they'll rely on speakers, microphones, and cameras for contextual awareness. Apple is reportedly developing its own frames in various sizes and colors, with prototypes connecting to iPhones via cable or embedded components.

Apple is also working on an AI pendant device described as a thin, flat circular disc that will serve as the "eyes and ears" of an iPhone. Unlike the failed Humane AI Pin, this device will rely heavily on an iPhone for processing and may include a speaker for direct conversations. While these products show promise, their success hinges on next-generation Siri, which continues to face delays.
