Apple is set to unveil the Series 12 this fall, bringing four rumored upgrades that could reshape the flagship smartwatch.

First, a genuine chip upgrade is expected. While the Series 9, Series 10, and Series 11 share a similar processor, the upcoming Watch8 family—comprising the N237, N238, and N240 models, including the Series 12 GPS and Cellular, and Ultra 4—will run on a fresh CPU called T8320. This mirrors the 2023 jump to the Series 9, giving a CPU and GPU boost to support the new watch‑OS 27 Siri‑AI.

Battery life remains a priority. Apple is reportedly enlarging the battery and tightening efficiency, especially as sleep tracking gains traction. Health‑related updates are also on the horizon: a new high‑blood‑pressure notification, which would differ from the existing pattern‑based alert, has been submitted to the FDA, and non‑invasive glucose monitoring stays in development.

Additionally, Bloomberg reports a simplified modular watch face, echoing the Ultra design but pared for standard models. Touch‑ID is unlikely to return, as Apple has reportedly dropped the feature. The Series 12 is slated for a September launch alongside the Ultra 4, with the Series 11 still discounted on Amazon.
