Apple TV+ is expanding its film slate with three major new projects, including a highly competitive Lance Armstrong biopic that marks the first time Armstrong has signed off on his life rights. Directed by Edward Berger, the untitled film will star Austin Butler as the disgraced cyclist. Apple Original Films reportedly won a fierce bidding war for the project, which blends elements of racing drama and character study.

In holiday entertainment, Apple has secured acclaimed director Hikari to helm 'Foster the Snowman,' a high-concept Christmas film about a childless couple who adopt a magical snowman with only 72 hours to live. The studio is building a tradition of annual holiday releases after last year's The Family Plan 2. The project, pitched as combining the charm of Paddington with the humor of Elf, has been in development since Apple acquired the rights last year.

Apple has also acquired film rights to 'Once and Again,' the upcoming romance novel from bestselling author Rebecca Serle. Described as The Time Traveler's Wife meets The Lakehouse, the story follows a woman who discovers her family's secret ability to turn back time once in their lives. The book releases March 10, positioning the film adaptation for development.
