Ahead of the new Apple TV 4K's November 13 launch, Apple today released an updated build of tv OS 27.2 exclusively for the fourth-generation model. The update, version 24K154, follows last week's release of tv OS 27.2 alongside iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS 27.2. This new build brings the Shuffle option for screen savers, more control over photos in screen savers, and American and British Sign Language support in select content to the new hardware.
At launch, the new Apple TV 4K starts at $299 and features Siri AI, built-in far-field microphones for hands-free voice commands, and a new surround sound feature allowing users to pair four compatible Home Pods as front and rear speakers. It also includes a fourth-generation Siri Remote with Precision Finding and a locating sound. According to reports, the new build enables Siri AI on the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, a feature previously restricted to internal builds, suggesting Apple may release updated builds for existing models soon.
