Apple is expanding its age verification requirements globally as more countries implement legislation requiring proof of age for certain digital services. The company has already launched verification systems in the UK, Singapore, and South Korea, with additional countries expected to follow as similar laws take effect.

In the UK, users can verify their age using a credit card, driver's license, or PASS-accredited cards like CitizenCard or Young Scot. The process takes under 30 seconds for most users, though some experienced technical issues during initial rollout. Singapore and South Korea have implemented their own verification methods, with South Korea requiring users to match their mobile carrier account details exactly.

Apple's age verification affects access to mature content and certain features, with unverified users treated as minors and subject to parental controls. The company maintains different minimum age requirements for individual accounts across countries, ranging from 13 in the US to 18 in Brazil. As age verification legislation continues spreading globally, Apple appears positioned to implement these requirements systematically across its services.
