Tim Cook and Eddy Cue have arrived in Idaho for the 2026 Sun Valley Conference, the annual gathering where media, technology, and finance leaders hold private meetings through July 11. The Apple CEO and his senior vice president of Services and Health were photographed at the Sun Valley Lodge alongside a roster that includes YouTube CEO Neal Mohan, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, OpenAI chairman Bret Taylor, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, GM CEO Mary Barra, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, and Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.

Notably absent so far is John Ternus, Apple's hardware engineering chief who was widely expected to attend given the company's upcoming leadership transition. His absence has sparked speculation about whether he will appear later in the week. Meanwhile, 84-year-old Barry Diller, chairman of IAC, drew attention by arriving on a blue Trek Verve+ 3 electric bike rather than the SUVs favored by most attendees — a habit he has maintained in previous years.

Last year, Cue inadvertently revealed a packed meeting schedule when he waved a stack of papers at photographers. This year's attendee list underscores the conference's role as a venue where AI strategy, streaming partnerships, and automotive tech deals take shape behind closed doors. Apple's presence with both Cook and Cue signals continued focus on services growth and potential AI collaborations.
