Tim Cook announced on X that Apple will donate to relief efforts for wildfires raging across southern Europe. The blazes have affected Portugal, Spain, and France, displacing more than 300,000 people according to the BBC, with high temperatures expected to persist.

In a post dated July 30, 2026, Cook wrote: "Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating wildfires in southern Europe. Thank you to the first responders, and to everyone still in harm's way, please stay safe. Apple will be donating to relief efforts on the ground."

This follows Apple's pattern of disaster response; seven months earlier the company pledged support for storm victims in Asia and a Hong Kong housing complex fire. Beyond emergency donations, Apple's Employee Giving program has raised over $880 million to date through its donation-matching policy, encouraging staff contributions matched by the company for global causes.
