Adobe Firefly Quick Cut AI video editing tool launches

Adobe is rolling out Quick Cut in beta, a new Firefly feature that uses AI to automatically assemble multiple uploaded or generated clips into a structured first edit. The tool aims to jumpstart the editing process by delivering a ready-to-tweak version for creators looking to streamline their workflow.

Once users upload raw video to Firefly, they can click Quick Cut and provide context about the footage—whether it's an interview, product demo, podcast, or vlog. Creators can specify aspect ratio, pacing, and even upload or generate an optional B-roll track to keep supporting footage organized. The AI then performs a first edit and displays the multi-track result.

The company designed Quick Cut to give video creators a clear starting point they can shape, refine, and make their own. It's a fast way to get from 'I have clips' to 'I have an edit I can work with.' Adobe suggests the tool could help product reviewers upload long takes of unboxing footage or reporters identify key moments in interviews.
