Southeast Asia's largest ride-hailing and delivery firm, Grab, announced plans to triple profit by 2028 through artificial intelligence investments and service expansion. President and COO Alex Hungate revealed the company targets $1.5 billion in EBITDA by 2028, with over 20% annual revenue growth for the next three years.

The Nasdaq-listed company recently achieved its first-ever full-year net profit in 2025, 14 years after founding. Despite this milestone, Grab's 2026 forecasts fell short of Wall Street estimates, sending shares down more than 15% this year. The company competes in a market shifting from subsidy-fueled expansion to profitability amid rising operating costs.

Grab aims to leverage its existing user base to bundle services like mobility, food delivery, and groceries at lower costs. The firm is expanding financial services offerings and has made acquisitions including U.S. wealth platform Stash. While prioritizing Southeast Asian investment, Grab explores AI agents to foster customer loyalty rather than integrating popular chatbots.
