Drivers in southcentral Pennsylvania should prepare for hazardous road conditions Tuesday morning as a winter weather advisory takes effect. The National Weather Service warns of mixed precipitation including freezing rain and sleet that could create slick surfaces during the morning commute.

York, Lebanon, and Adams counties face the highest risk, with precipitation expected between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. The advisory predicts up to one-tenth of an inch of ice accumulation and less than one inch of snow. AccuWeather reports that areas like Harrisburg may experience a transition from freezing rain to rain as temperatures rise.

While Tuesday brings winter weather concerns, the forecast shows a dramatic shift later this week. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 60s by Thursday, with weekend highs approaching 70 degrees. This sharp temperature swing could create additional road hazards as melting ice refreezes overnight.
