Investigators believe the clothing and face mask worn by the person seen in surveillance footage of Nancy Guthrie's abduction were purchased at Walmart. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told CBS News that authorities are reviewing surveillance footage from local Walmart stores after identifying the backpack as a black Ozark Trail Hiker, sold exclusively at Walmart.

FBI agents found gloves near Nancy Guthrie's residence containing DNA that appears to match the gloves worn by the subject in the surveillance video. The FBI has sent the gloves to their lab in Florida for analysis, with preliminary results received on February 14. Authorities are awaiting official confirmation before adding the unknown male profile to the national database.

Sheriff Nanos called the backpack one of the most promising leads in the case, noting that Walmart has provided records of all Ozark Trail Hiker purchases over the past few months. The 84-year-old grandmother was last seen on January 31 after dinner with her daughter Annie Guthrie. The FBI has released several photos and video clips of a person captured outside her home, describing the individual as approximately 5'9" to 5'10" tall with an average build.
