The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) released a video showcasing drone strikes against Russian airbases. The compilation, dubbed a “greatest hits” reel, features attacks on various aircraft, including fighter jets and helicopters, with the SBU claiming over $1 billion in damage. These strikes are part of a broader campaign targeting Russian military assets in the ongoing war.

The footage depicts strikes on airfields in Crimea and other Russian-occupied territories. The SBU claims to have targeted 15 aircraft in total. Russia has responded to the increasing threat by constructing hardened aircraft shelters. Ukraine's ability to strike at long range has been enhanced by its arsenal of drones and long-range cruise missiles.

This compilation follows a previous large-scale Ukrainian drone attack, Operation Spiderweb, which targeted Russian airbases in June 2025. The conflict has also seen reciprocal drone strikes, including a recent Russian attack on what was believed to be a Ukrainian F-16 decoy. The SBU also claims to have destroyed Russian equipment worth an estimated $4 billion last year.

The ongoing drone war reflects a shift toward uncrewed systems. The SBU's focus on these types of attacks suggests that such strikes will continue. The attacks also demonstrate the vulnerability of airfields to such strikes. The video release suggests that Ukraine will maintain pressure on Russia's military assets in the coming months.
