Israeli police arrested a foreign tourist at Ben-Gurion Airport on Sunday night on suspicion of raping a 19-year-old woman who was part of the same Jewish Agency program trip to Israel. The suspect, a man in his 20s, was detained just before boarding a flight to leave the country, according to police.

Both the victim and suspect were participants in a Jewish Agency-organized trip when the alleged assault occurred in a public bomb shelter in Jerusalem's Kiryat Moriah neighborhood. The victim reported the incident to police after arriving at a Jerusalem hospital. Detectives from the Oz Station in the Jerusalem District quickly identified the suspect and coordinated with airport authorities to intercept him.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court on Monday, where police will request an extension of his remand. The arrest highlights ongoing concerns about tourist safety and the challenges of investigating crimes involving foreign visitors who may attempt to flee the country before authorities can act.
