A British woman was fatally shot by her father at his Texas home following a heated argument about Donald Trump, an inquest has revealed. Lucy Harrison, 23, from Warrington, England, was killed on January 10, 2025, at her father's residence in Prosper, near Dallas.

The inquest heard that Harrison had been visiting her father, Kris Harrison, for the holidays when a political dispute erupted. Her boyfriend, Sam Littler, testified that the argument intensified when Harrison questioned how her father would feel if she had been sexually assaulted. The father, who moved to America when Harrison was a child, had previously undergone alcohol addiction treatment.

Police investigated the shooting as possible manslaughter, but a Grand Jury declined to indict Kris Harrison. The inquest, which opened at Cheshire Coroner's Court, heard that Harrison was led into her father's bedroom before a gunshot was heard. Her mother described her as a "real force of life" who worked as a buyer for fashion brand Boohoo. The hearing continues Tuesday.
