Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has reached an agreement to sell seven of its amusement parks to EPR Properties for a total cash consideration of $331 million. The parks being sold include Michigan's Adventure, Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Six Flags Great Escape, La Ronde, Six Flags St. Louis, Valleyfair, and Worlds of Fun. This move is part of the company's strategy to optimize its park portfolio.

Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, which is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary season, will remain under Six Flags ownership. The sale will reduce the company's portfolio from 41 to 34 parks across 23 locations in North America. The company says the transaction will simplify its portfolio, strengthen its balance sheet, and allow for greater focus on properties with the strongest returns.

EPR Properties will partner with experienced operators including Enchanted Parks for the six U.S. properties and La Ronde Operations, Inc. for the Quebec location. All seven parks will continue normal operations through the 2026 season, and existing season passes and memberships will be honored. The sale reflects CEO John Reilly's strategy to concentrate capital and operational focus on properties with the greatest long-term upside.
