Prime Minister Lawrence Wong delivered Singapore's Budget 2026 speech, outlining a comprehensive plan to navigate the nation's next development phase. The budget introduces six key focus areas including economic strategy refresh, artificial intelligence advancement, and enhanced family support measures.

Central to the announcements is a $500 CDC voucher scheme for all Singaporean households in January 2027, split between supermarkets and heartland merchants. Additional measures include $570 U-Save rebates for eligible HDB households, $500 Child LifeSG Credits per child aged 12 and below, and a Cost-of-Living Special Payment of $200 to $400 for adults earning up to $100,000 annually who own no more than one property.

The budget also establishes Singapore's National AI Council, chaired by PM Wong, to drive the country's artificial intelligence agenda. This initiative comes as Singapore seeks to harness AI as a strategic advantage while maintaining social cohesion and security. The comprehensive package aims to strengthen the social compact and ensure no Singaporean is left behind during economic transitions.
