According to a NASA document, the agency is targeting early March for the launch of its Artemis II moon mission. Potential launch windows are identified as March 6-9 and March 11. This update follows issues encountered during a recent wet dress rehearsal, where the Space Launch System (SLS) experienced hydrogen fuel leaks, a problem that plagued the earlier Artemis I mission.

The delay stems from the need to resolve technical challenges with the SLS rocket. Problems with a recently replaced valve on the spacecraft's capsule further complicate matters. The Artemis II mission is designed to send a crew of four astronauts on a lunar flyby. A successful rehearsal, involving fueling and system tests without a crew, will be key to meeting the March timeline.

The agency is working to address the issues. NASA’s documentation indicates early April as an alternative launch window if the March dates aren't feasible. The Artemis program aims to establish a sustainable human presence on the Moon. This mission is a crucial step towards achieving that long-term goal and sets the stage for future missions.
