Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has revealed that DNA found on a glove discovered near Nancy Guthrie's Tucson home belongs to a restaurant worker, clearing up speculation about the missing person case. The glove, found two miles from Guthrie's house on Feb. 15, initially raised hopes it might provide clues about the 84-year-old's disappearance.

Sheriff Nanos told KVOA that investigators traced the DNA to an employee at a nearby restaurant, emphasizing the match has nothing to do with the case. The sheriff addressed rumors that the glove might have been discarded by law enforcement, stating definitively that it belonged to a restaurant worker who was found across the street from the establishment.

Guthrie vanished from her home in the early morning hours of Feb. 1, with surveillance footage showing an armed assailant at her front door. The FBI has offered a $100,000 reward for information, while Guthrie's family has contributed $1 million to the investigation. DNA testing continues on other gloves sent to a Florida lab, though authorities say separating mixed DNA samples presents significant challenges.
