Las Vegas Outlet Mall Charges $5-$17 for Premium Parking

Las Vegas shoppers are voicing frustration over Las Vegas South Premium Outlets' new Upfront Plus Parking service, which charges $5 to $17 for premium spots near the entrance. The outlet mall, owned by Simon Malls, introduced the paid parking option this summer, featuring 12 designated spaces among 2,500 total parking spots.

The paid parking system uses QR codes that shoppers can scan to pay for closer parking, but many locals say they feel nickel-and-dimed. Brian Sanchez called the charges "ridiculous," noting he lives just five minutes away and shouldn't have to pay extra to shop at an outlet mall. Morgan Bowles and Brianna Grove echoed similar sentiments, arguing that outlet shoppers are already trying to save money and shouldn't face additional parking fees.

This pricing strategy mirrors Simon Malls' approach at other properties like the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. The company already charges for parking at Las Vegas North Premium Outlets, though Nevada residents with ID can park for free there. As times get harder for consumers, the premium parking charges at what's marketed as a discount shopping destination may test customer loyalty and shopping patterns at the South Valley location.
