A South Jersey man faces a three-count indictment after a viral boardwalk fight involving two off-duty police officers. Xontae Glass, 27, of Marmora, was indicted on Feb. 19 for aggravated assault and weapons offenses following the altercation that occurred during a 5K run in Atlantic City.

Video footage of the confrontation spread widely on social media after a bystander recorded the incident. The fight began when Atlantic City officer James Herbert intervened after witnessing Glass allegedly holding his wife in a headlock under the boardwalk. During the struggle, Glass reportedly threatened Herbert with a pocketknife.

Northfield officer Scott Pollak then joined the scene, drawing his service weapon and ordering Glass to drop the knife. The video shows the two men fighting in front of boardwalk storefronts before Glass fled and was later arrested. The woman involved later criticized the officers for not identifying themselves as police, contradicting statements from both police chiefs who praised the officers' intervention.
