A Colorado man was sentenced Monday for the nearly two-year-old assault on a 15-year-old boy at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant. Lucas Kalisher, 57, pleaded guilty to felony second-degree attempted assault-strangulation as part of a plea deal. The incident occurred on August 4, 2024, when Kalisher, accompanied by a woman, allegedly grabbed the teen from behind, pulled him down, and threw him onto the restaurant floor after water was accidentally splashed on the woman.

Kalisher, previously a private equity CEO, received 30 months of probation, anger management evaluation, community service, and restitution to the victim. The plea deal dismissed more serious charges including child abuse. The case highlights escalating tensions over minor public interactions and the legal consequences for physical altercations in retail settings.
