Michael Wilkinson, 30, was sentenced to eight years in prison at Hull Crown Court for raping a woman shortly after she gave birth, Humberside Police reported. The victim endured one of the most vulnerable moments of her life when Wilkinson committed the assault in September 2025.

Wilkinson denied two counts of rape but was found guilty of one charge and acquitted of the other following a trial on February 5. The court imposed a lifetime restraining order against him the following day. Detective Constable Jen Rix described the crime as "appalling and deeply violating," emphasizing Wilkinson's predatory behavior and complete disregard for the victim's wellbeing, dignity, and safety.
