George Strait's son and daughter-in-law, Bubba and Tamara Strait, have settled a lawsuit with San Antonio builder Build Modern over a home renovation contract. The company had sought over $124,000 for alleged unpaid services and delays.

The dispute stemmed from a remodel project initially valued at $221,225, which Build Modern claimed was derailed by repeated delays and withheld payments. Tamara Strait allegedly hired subcontractors separately and made late design decisions, prompting the contractor to seek legal recourse.

The case was sent to private arbitration per a contract clause, leading to a resolution in early January. Both parties declined to disclose terms. The lawsuit’s dismissal avoids a public trial but leaves questions about liability and payment terms unanswered.

Industry experts note such disputes are common in high-end residential builds where scope changes aren't tightly managed. For Build Modern, the settlement avoids prolonged litigation costs, while the Straits sidestep negative publicity.
