A former fire chief and his wife died in a head-on collision with a dump truck on Route 220 in Bradford County. Frank Yonkin, the former Station 57 Fire Chief from the Dushore Fire Company, and his wife Bonnie Yonkin were killed in the February 24 crash near the intersection of Route 220 and Harney Road.

Emergency crews responded to the serious crash where a vehicle collided head-on with a tri-axle dump truck. Both occupants sustained fatal injuries in the collision. The Dushore Fire Company confirmed the deaths and released a statement honoring Yonkin's service.

"Chief Yonkin was a dedicated leader, mentor, friend, and veteran who gave countless years of service to the Dushore Fire Company and the community he cared so deeply about," the department stated. Bonnie was described as "a steadfast supporter of the department and a valued member of our fire family." The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
