19-year-old Newark woman killed in head-on crash on I-95 south of Holly Oak

Delaware State Police report a fatal collision occurred on February 20th around 8:55 p.m. A Volvo truck-tractor pulling a car-hauling trailer southbound on I-95 struck a Chrysler 200 northbound that crossed the median. The 19-year-old Chrysler driver, not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the hospital. Her name remains withheld pending family notification. The Volvo driver, a 34-year-old New York man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. The crash closed the interstate for six hours during investigation.

Crash cause under active probe - police state it's unclear why the Chrysler driver crossed the median. Authorities seek witnesses or video footage; contact Cpl. K. Oakes or Delaware Crime Stoppers.
