China's 2026 Spring Festival Gala featured a groundbreaking display of autonomous humanoid robots performing martial arts routines. Unitree Robotics showcased its G1 and H2 models in a synchronised performance that included continuous freestyle vaulting, airborne flips exceeding three metres, and complex acrobatic manoeuvres.

Engineers reported several technical firsts during the televised event, including a seven-and-a-half rotation spin and coordinated cluster movements reaching four metres per second. The robots demonstrated newly developed dexterous hands capable of gripping and swapping martial arts props mid-performance. The showcase represented a significant milestone in humanoid robotics development.

The performance culminated with the H2 robot appearing as a "Sword Grandmaster" during the main gala, while a separate venue in Yiwu featured the same model dressed as the Monkey King. This demonstration of advanced robotics capabilities during China's most-watched television event signals the country's growing technological ambitions and the increasing sophistication of humanoid robot applications.
