A Jan. 6 rioter pardoned by President Trump has been charged with making death threats against a Metropolitan Police commander. Jake Lang, who was captured on video at a fifth-anniversary event, told Cmdr. Jason Bagshaw he should be 'put down like a dead dog' and 'hung' in front of the Capitol. Lang was among over 1,500 defendants granted clemency in January 2025.

Prosecutors allege Lang approached Bagshaw and pointed at him, quoting Lang as saying 'public execution is the only solution for animals like you.' A warrant was issued Friday, with Lang pleading not guilty at Saturday's arraignment. He's been given a stay-away order and faces a March 24 status hearing.
