Buc-ee's is expanding its footprint with a new location in Hardeeville, South Carolina, just 25 minutes north of Savannah via I-95. The 46-acre site at Exit 8 will feature dozens of fuel pumps, electric-vehicle charging stations, and amenities like a bicycle plaza and scenic ponds. Construction is slated to begin in early 2026, with completion expected in 2031.

Once operational, this will become the closest Buc-ee's to Savannah, replacing Brunswick's location as the nearest option. The Hardeeville site sits within the larger Hardee Station development at the intersection of U.S. Highway 278 and Highway 17. City Manager Josh Gruber emphasized the project's role in meeting local residents' needs for retail, dining, and recreation without requiring travel outside city limits.

The chain continues aggressive expansion across the Southeast and beyond, with multiple 2026 openings planned in Ohio, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Georgia currently hosts three Buc-ee's locations in Brunswick, Calhoun, and Warner Robins, while South Carolina has one in Florence. The Hardeeville store represents Buc-ee's fourth Georgia-adjacent location and its second in South Carolina.
