Human remains discovered in Golden Valley have been identified as Dennis Edmondson, who vanished in 1998. The Mohave County Sheriff's Office announced that familial DNA testing confirmed the identity of the remains found by teenagers in October 2000 near Burro Road and Verde Drive.

Investigators initially struggled to identify the remains due to degraded DNA samples. Dental records proved inconclusive, but authorities suspected the remains belonged to Edmondson, who was reported missing on February 18, 1998. DNA samples from Edmondson's family members ultimately matched the unidentified remains.

The case has now shifted to a death investigation, with authorities believing Edmondson did not die of natural causes. The sheriff's office is actively seeking information from the public to help solve this 28-year-old mystery.
