Western Digital experienced a significant surge in its fourth-quarter profit, with an increase of more than elevenfold, largely attributed to sustained robust demand for its memory technology. The company's profit reached $3.2 billion, a dramatic rise from $282 million in the prior year.

This impressive financial performance was reflected in earnings from continuing operations, which jumped to $8.21 per share from 67 cents per share a year ago. Adjusted earnings from continuing operations, excluding certain one-time items, stood at $3.56 per share, surpassing the $3.31 per share expected by analysts surveyed by FactSet.

CEO Irving Tan expressed confidence in the ongoing demand for their products, stating, "As global data creation continues to accelerate, we enter fiscal year 2027 with continued confidence in the durability of demand and with increasing visibility into our business." This outlook suggests a positive trajectory for the company amidst growing global data generation.
