Walmart reported U.S. e-commerce sales rose 24% in the second quarter, with store-fulfilled delivery sales growing over 40%, according to The Wall Street Journal's Sarah Nassauer. However, overall comparable sales growth of 2.6% marked the smallest quarterly increase since 2020 as shoppers spent cautiously.

Fast delivery of groceries, fashion, medicines and general merchandise surged 48% in the U.S. for the quarter. CEO John Furner said Walmart has expanded deliveries of 30 minutes or less into 38 U.S. markets.

CFO John David Rainey said the number of units delivered in less than half an hour has doubled in the current quarter from a year ago, and 70% of all e-commerce orders are now delivered on the same day or better.
