Unitree Robotics surged 460% in its Shanghai debut, reaching a market value of $51 billion, becoming the first humanoid maker to list in mainland China.

The U.S. banned most imports of new humanoid robot models, citing an “immediate national security threat,” while China promotes “embodied artificial intelligence” as a key future industry.

Unitree’s robots are familiar to millions, having danced in Lunar New Year broadcasts and performed back‑flips online. The company last year generated $250 million in revenue and $40 million in profit, with the lofty valuation based on rapid growth expectations.

Last year, Chinese firms shipped thousands of robots and components worldwide, solidifying Beijing’s dominance in the global robotics supply chain and heightening competition with Washington.
