President Trump warned that U.S. forces could strike Oman if it interferes with American efforts to blockade Iranian ships in the Strait of Hormuz. The Gulf nation has historically acted as a neutral mediator, but U.S. officials now view its diplomacy as hostile to American interests. The Trump administration previously threatened sanctions and military action after intelligence suggested Muscat might coordinate with Iran to toll vessels in the strategic waterway. Oman has repeatedly denied these allegations.

Defense contractor L3Harris announced it removed Christopher Kubasik as chairman and CEO following a code of conduct violation, though the company stated his departure does not affect operations. Kubasik previously left Lockheed Martin in 2012 over a personal relationship with a subordinate.

Paramount is seeking a bond to cover the roughly $7 million-a-day fee it will owe Warner shareholders if their merger does not close by Oct. 1. The deal has received approval from the Justice Department and 68 countries, but faces legal challenges from 12 states claiming it grants excessive control over movie distribution and cable programming.
