Taylor Farms Recalls Mexican Iceberg Lettuce

Taylor Fresh Foods is voluntarily recalling all iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico from the U.S. market. This action follows an investigation by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that traced a parasitic outbreak to shredded lettuce produced in Mexico.

Federal health officials have linked the outbreak to cyclosporiasis, with cases reported in more than 30 states and over 90 people hospitalized. While the FDA traceback points to a specific independent farm, which accounts for less than 1% of the U.S. iceberg lettuce supply, Taylor Farms has removed all lettuce from the region indefinitely.

A company spokesperson confirmed that no other Taylor Fresh Foods products are affected and that its branded salad kits do not contain iceberg lettuce.
